KARACHI: As Law Enforcement Agencies (LEAs) have intensified their crackdown against varsity-based militant group Ansarul Shariah, Vice Chancellor University of Karachi (UoK) Dr. Mohammad Ajmal Khan on Friday clarified that there is no presence of a terrorist wing at the varsity.
Addressing a press conference, Dr. Khan said that the varsity has not reached a decision with regard to sharing student data with security agencies.
“We have come to know about data sharing through media; [as] no security agency has approached us,” he said.
The vice chancellor said that the university will refrain from taking a decision posing difficulties for students, adding that the decision pertaining to a character certificate has been discussed recently during a meeting.
“We are ready to cooperate with security agencies, [however] no information about terrorist activities was reported by the agencies,” Dr. Khan added.
