Why Pakistan got defeated by India? PCB forms committee to probe

KARACHI: The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) on Tuesday constituted a three-member committee to probe Pakistan’s thumping defeat at the hands of India in their Champions Trophy 2017 opener match.

The committee comprises of former Test cricketer Mudassar Nazar, Chief Operating Officer PCB Subhan Ahmed and former Test cricketer Haroon Rasheed.

The committee would interrogate from the players as to what led to such a dismal performance against India on Sunday. Then the committee would submit a comprehensive report to the PCB in the light of the investigation.

Pakistan’s crushing 124-run loss to title-holders India in their tournament opener was criticised for the lop-sided manner in which they played.

Skipper Sarfraz Ahmed admitted that they played poorly against India.

Their bowlers conceded 319 to India, while batsmen succumbed to just 164 with 14.2 overs remaining and fielders were sloppy in dropping two catches.
