A North Carolina woman is on cloud nine after she won lottery not once but twice in one day! Kimberly Morris, who is a mother of three, lives in Wake Forest, North Carolina, bought a $4,000,000 Diamond Dazzler ticket from a Harris Teeter supermarket and won $10,000. Morris quickly drove to the North Carolina Education Lottery headquarters in Raleigh to claim her prize.
“I was shocked. It felt really great to win, but I really have always dreamed I would win $1 million!” she was quoted saying in CNBC MakeIt.
Greed often leads to losses. But, the saying fell contrary to Morris who decided to try her luck one more time, as she drove home to Wake Forest. She stopped at a Quality Food Mart in Raleigh to buy a second $4,000,000 Diamond Dazzler ticket and her dream came true as she became the first person to win a $1million dollar prize from the $20 scratch-off game.
Morris called her husband John to break the news of her winning two lotteries. “She was freaking out on the phone. I couldn’t understand her, so I told her to slow down. When I realized what she was saying, I didn’t believe her at first. I had to come home and see it for myself,” John was quoted saying.
