LAHORE (PAK TIMES): An important leader of Pakistan Muslim League-Quaid, Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi said on Sunday, in a statement that the Chief Minister of Punjab will be from Imran Khan’s party.

Pervaiz Elahi claimed that our party (Pakistan Muslim League-Quaid) will get important ministries in the provincial government including the Speaker of the Punjab Assembly.

But, the Chief Minister for Pakistan’s province Punjab will be from the winning party of the Punjab Assembly Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), he added while talking to media.

Earlier, PML-Q leader announced to maintain the Punjab Assembly seat and renounce both seats he won in the National Assembly.

Mr. Elahi made this decision after his party shook hands with Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf in the assemblies and rejected to support PML-N in Punjab Assembly.

Moreover, Mr. Elahi had already worked as the Speaker of the Punjab Assembly from February 19, 1997, to October 12, 1999, till the martial law was imposed by the military official Pervez Musharraf.

Mr. Elahi’s party PML-Q won the general elections in held in 2002 and he became the Chief Minister of Punjab. However, when Pakistan People’s Party won the general elections in 2008, Mr. Elahi was appointed as the Deputy Prime Minister of the country.
